BRIDLINGTON TOWN PLAYERS 2004-05

 

NICK BAXTER - GOALKEEPER.
Former Man Utd and Hull City junior. Signed for his home town club in season 2003/4 and took advantage of injuries to Gavin Kelly and Chris Hill to stake his claim for the no 1 shirt after debuting in a Unibond league game at Bishop Auckland.

GAVIN KELLY - GOALKEEPER.
Vastly experienced keeper who made numerous football league appearances with Bristol Rovers and Hull City. Other clubs include Harrogate Town and Bradford PA, but recent seasons have seen Gavin as one of the consistent figures behind Town's success. Picked up a couple of injuries last season, but still one of the best around.

DANNY HARVEY - GOALKEEPER
Spent career to date at Hull City from age 9. Progressed through the ranks to figure regularly in the reserve side and played 3 times for the full team.

CRAIG SUDDABY - DEFENDER
Progressed from Town's reserves 3 seasons ago to become one of the most consistent performers at the club. As well as picking up honours with Town, Craig also has England schoolboy caps to his name. He shows maturity beyond his years.

STEVE ROBINSON - DEFENDER
Has been at the club for 3 years now and his excellent performances have seen him as the first name on the team sheet regularly. 2003/4 managers player of the season. Another good season is expected of this no nonsense defender.


STEVE FISHER - DEFENDER
Joined summer 2004 from nearby North Ferriby. Performances in pre season were quickly noted by the faithful which will quickly make him a Town favourite. Apart from his defensive qualities, 'fish' scores from set pieces and distributes the ball well from defence.

STEVE HEATH - DEFENDER
Joined in 2003 from Alfreton Town. Former Tottenham junior who has also gained plenty of experience on the non-league circuit. Powerful tough tackling no nonsense player who gives 110% in every game.

LEE HARPER - DEFENDER
Club captain and one of the most influential and inspirational players at the club. Football league experience with Scarborough. Other clubs include Harrogate Town and North Ferriby. Missed half of last season due to injury, now back to fitness. 'Skip' often outscores his midfield teammates.

ANDY TAYLOR - DEFENDER
Another popular player who excites the fans with runs down the wing. This former Kiwi under 19's international is now in his 4th season at the club and is sure to give hiss all when selected. Andy also chips in with vital goals.

CARL GIBLIN - DEFENDER
Joined the Seasiders last season from local football. Captained Town reserves to their highest ever league finish and into the Grays league cup final. Reads play superbly and was called in to the first team squad 3 times last season.

SHAUN BAKER - MIDFIELD
Often an unsung hero in the centre of midfield. Town's tough tackling ball winner never shies from a tackle and is often referred to as a manager's dream. Links play superbly and creates many openings. The clubs vice captain who has been at Queensgate for 5 years.

MARTIN THACKER - MIDFIELD
Towns ball player and free kick expert. One of the most gifted players at the club. Has played with the regions other clubs, but has made the position his own at Queensgate. Second spell at the club and the creative link between midfield and attack.

CRAIG BURDICK - MIDFIELD
Can produce electrifying pace to destroy opposing defences. Good header of the ball and scores his share of goals. Previous clubs include Hall road rangers and Goole, but has caught the eye in each of Town's promotion seasons wit his wing play and trickery.

STEVE UNDERWOOD - MIDFIELD
First full season at Queensgate. Joined in the second half of the season and soon adjusted to the pace. Reads play well and is a strong tackler. Previously at Hall road rangers.

WAYNE LEWIS - MIDFIELD
Wayne's enthusiasm for the game never diminishes. Limited appearances last season, but could always be relied upon. Previously at Hall road rangers.

CHRIS HUDSON - MIDFIELD
Previously a Hull City junior. Caught the eye in Town's reserves and has worked hard pre season. Shows potential and spirit.

DARREN FELL - MIDFIELD/FORWARD
A player who has been tracked by Billy Heath for a while. Has developed in recent seasons at Goole. Has pace and ability and despite not being the largest in stature knows how to score goals.

PAUL WILSON - MIDFIELD
Second spell at the club. Excellent left sided player who runs all day. Studying sports science and coaching in the USA. Has spent recent seasons at Colwyn Bay. Former Hull City junior.

DAVID INGRAM
-MIDFIELD Second spell at Queensgate. Signed form Humber Premier League side Sculcoates two years ago. Departed for Hall Road Rangers but returned to regain a place in the side for the second half of last season and scored one of the goals of the season in the final home game

James Tomlinson - Midfield

After spending all his footballing career to date at Hull City, This tallented 19 year old midfielder was snapped up by Billy Heath in October 2004. James had made plenty of Reserve appearances in the Pontins League for the Tigers before being released after nearly ten years at the club. Made Brid Town debut at Gateshead 23/10/04 and will be a tremendous assett to the Seasiders.

Mike Cooper 18 year old Midfielder.
Joined the Seasiders from North Ferriby United Autumn 2004. After coming on as substitute in his first few games for Town, "Coops" made an impressive starting debut at Gateshead in the Unibond Premier Division game where he was without doubt man of the match. Previuosly gained experience at Hull City after progressing through the Junior ranks

 

PHIL HARRISON - FORWARD
Popular player who gives his all every game. Quick feet and a very talented player he deceives many opponents. Can also play wide and scores regularly. Joined from Hall road rangers.

PAUL PALMER - FORWARD
Last seasons top scorer. Non stop effort and chasing sees the skilful striker defend from the front when opponents have the ball. More luck should see Paul achieve 20 goals this season.

KEVIN SMITH - FORWARD
Big powerful striker who has a terrific shot. 2nd season at Queensgate and will be looking to be amongst the goals. Goole and Harrogate Railway are among previous clubs. Not afraid to shot from anywhere.

GARETH COLLINSON - FORWARD
New signing who has a terrific touch and scoring record. Aston Villa youth player. His previous clubs in include Grantham Town and Brodsworth Miners Welfare.
