Bridlington made hard work of this win but got the reward with a late winner. Steve Robinson opened the scoring for the visitors in the first half. Bridlington should have made sure early in the second with Baldwin twice hitting the post before slack defending from a corner let the home side equalise. Substitute Danny Drayton spared Bridlington’s blushes with the winner with four minutes to spare.

Bridlington were first to show with Paul Palmer firing wide on six minutes. It was the visitors again who pressured with Baldwin and Harris both going close on 9 mins. Peterlees first opening came on 16 mins but Bridlington defended well to clear. The Seasiders took the lead in the 21st min. Following a corner the ball broke for Steve Robinson to drive home with his left foot. Bridlington remained on top for the rest of the half and came close with a deflected Martin Thacker volley HT 0 – 1

In the second half again it was the visitors who made the most of the game, with Stuart Baldwin involved on a number of occasions. First his left foot shot hit the post on 51 mins and 3 minutes later he almost got on the end of an Andy Thompson long throw then in the 54th minute, after working space, Baldwin managed to find the same upright again to be denied. This let off lifted the home side who came more into the game and the equalised in the 68th minute. A ball in from the right was glanced into the far corner past Gavin Kelly by Paul Harvey to level the scores. Peterlee raised their game and pressured the visitors at times but Bridlington had enough in the tank to press forward in the last ten minutes. With just four mins remaining, substitutes Phil Harrison and Danny Drayton linked, Harrison’s ball playing in Drayton who finished with quality to give the visitors the win and put them in the next round for a home tie.
