After a flurry of activity from both sides, Burdick for the home side fired a powerful shot but was wide of the mark.  Hyde threatened but were caught offside, then a neat move from Town almost saw Farley in but the ball was just beyond him. On 10 mins Harris flicked on for Burdick who forced a corner, but the header by Harper from the kick was wide.  Hyde had possession and pressed but Tolson and Barker were offside. Bridlington attacked and under pressure a hand ball occurred giving Bridlington a free kick just outside the Hyde box. Farley took the free and slotted the ball through the wall past the unsighted Fish and into the net to give the home side the lead on 15 mins. 1 – 0 From the restart a late challenge saw a melee with several players involved resulting in bookings for Bridlington’s Thacker, and Hyde’s Challender.  The home side were soon on the attack again and Burdick fired just wide from inside the box. For Hyde, Trees and Callaghan linked well but Bridlington defended the threat. On 25 mins Jason Harris went on a solo run but was felled from behind for a free kick 25 yards out. A well worked free kick, straight from the training ground, almost worked but Thacker fired just wide. Pendlebury found space on the left for Hyde but his pull back was behind his strikers and Town cleared. On the half hour, from a long clearance, Harris broke down the left and cut in but he fired across the face of the goal. Burdick collected a loose pass and shot from distance but was just over by inches. On 35 mins a flick on found Tolson and he went over in the box under challenge from Heath and Robinson. A penalty was awarded. Tolson fired and although Kelly got to the ball it squirmed under him for Hyde to level on 35mins. From the restart Burdick crossed in and Thompson side footed home an immediate response to put the home side infront again 2 – 1. on 37 mins  Hyde gained ground inside the last five mins of the half but a foul gave Bridlington possession. Hyde regathered and gained a free 35 yards out but Bridlington cleared long. With five minutes of added time neither side wanted to make a mistake and the half drew to and end HT 2 – 1.

With just five miutes of the second half gone, Bridlington worked the right and fed Harris in the box. He turned swiftly and fired into the roof of the net to make it 3 – 1 on 50 mins. Hyde launched a long ball forward and Robinson had to concede a corner, the first of the match for Hyde on 55 mins. Bridlington attacked back and earned a corner of their own but after a little confusion Fish gathered. Town attacked again through Burdick down the right and his cross was headed goalward by Harris who forced Fish to tip round. Either side of the hour mark bith sides introduced substitutes and this slowed play a little. On 70 mimnutes Burdick rode a challenge to shoot from distance forcing a good save from Fish. From a throw a long cross found Hyde’s Evans at the back post but he headed over on 72mins. On 73 minutes Pendlebury scythed down Burdick near the half way line butr was only spoken to by Referee Greenwood. Hyde tried to take advantage through Barker and Evans whilst Burdick received treatment but Town hit back with Paul Palmer firing straight at Fish.  Hyde threw men forward in the last five minutes in search of a goal but were again thwarted by the offside flag. In stoppage time a Hyde free kick evaded all to go dead. Town fully deserved their win.
