Farsley Celtic 2(0)(Bett 69, Shields 77)

Bridlington Town 2(1)(Burdick 45, Palmer 87)

Att: 165

referee: C.Pawson - Sheffield

Honours were shared in this fourth meeting this season between the two sides. The visitors had dominated spelss of the first half and snatched the lead on the stroke of half time through Burdick. Farsley rallied in the second half and grabbed two, through Bett and Shields, in a ten minute spell mid way through when they stretched the Town defence. BRidlington pressured to the end and grabbed a deserved equaliser from Palmer with just three mins left.

Bridlington had much of the play from the start with Ingram heading over and Baker firing wide inside the first quarter, before Baker, Palmer and Burdick combined, gaining a free kick. Thacker fired just over from outside the box. Andy Taylor then slotted an inch perfect ball through for Phil Harrison but the Farsley defence got back to clear. On the break Farsley pushed up and won a freekick 30 yards out. The kick was deflected and Gavin Kelly acrobatically managed to change direction to save. On fourthy mins Burdick and Harrison combined to put Paul Palmer through in space but he mis hit his shot straight at the Farsley keeper who gathered gratefully. Bridlington finally got their reward on the stroke of half time. A free kick was lifted in by Thacker, Farsley keeper Morgan puched clear, Ingram put the ball back into the danger area to cause a scramble and the ball fell for Craig Burdick to fire home from the edge of the box.

Farsley came out fired up for the second half and went about their task with Bett and Stammer causing problems for the visiting defence. Bridlington had the wind at their backs but couldn't benefit as Stammer and Watson pushed up for the home side. Farsley levelled following a corner. The ball was only half cleared and Farsley were awarded a free kick on the edge of the "D". Mark Bett curled a neat kick onto the net for the home side. Farsley were now well in control of the game and punished some of Bridlington's loose ball but still the visiotrs looked to retgain the lead, forcing several corners. Farsley hit back with a neat flowing move that saw Taylor foul Stammer just outside the box. The kick was floated to the back post where Andy Shields had nipped in to sidefoot home to give Farsley the lead with 13 mins left. Bridlington had to go in search of an equaliser and again forced several corners. Eventually this paid off when Paul Palmer fired home from a deep crsssed corner on 87 mins.
